Solar Plans

• Solar plans and Building Permit Applications can be submitted via email to permits@lakeportfire.com, or in person to our office Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Mailed plans will not be accepted. In person plan submissions must not be on paper larger than 17"x11"
• Residential solar plan approval fees are $90
• Commercial solar plan approval fees are $180
• Fees can be paid using cash, check, or credit card. A payment link will be provided for online payments after plans have been received.

Sprinkler Plan Approval and Inspections

The California Residential Code section R313.2 requires automatic residential fire sprinkler systems in newly constructed one- and two-family dwellings.

• Sprinkler system plans can be submitted via email to permits@lakeportfire.com, or by hand to our office Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. In person plan submissions must not be on paper larger than 17"x11".
• Fees for residential water based systems are $170
• Fees for commercial water based systems are $340
• Fees can be paid using cash, check, or credit card. A payment link will be provided for online payments after plans have been received.

Mitigation Fees (Fire Fees for New Construction)

Fire mitigation fees are paid for all new construction or additions. They must be paid before city or county agencies will issue a building permit.

• All new construction and additions need to be approved by the District. Plans can be submitted via email to permits@lakeportfire.com, or by hand to our office Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. In person plan submissions must not be on paper larger than 17"x11". 
• Mitigation fees are $1.00/sq ft for all covered areas including covered decks, porches, and carports. There may be additional plan check fees that will be determined upon submission.
• Fees can be paid using cash, check, or credit card. A payment link will be provided for online payments after plans have been received.
