VEGETATION COMPLAINTS & ABATEMENT

The Lakeport Fire Protection District would like to remind the property owners of our District of the importance of weed abatement to prevent potential fire hazards in our community.

Taking the initiative to abate your property would assist our District in future follow-up to reduce fire danger. Properties that have not been abated by June could incur fines and potential liens against properties. Furthermore, property owners can be held liable for any and all damage to surrounding properties and for all suppression costs associated if a fire were to occur.

Complaints can be filed for overgrown vegetation that may be in violation of the Fire Code. Please call the District office at (707)263-4396 or email pfossa@lakeportfire.com to file a complaint. All complaints are anonymous and will be inspected by a District employee.
